Margo Golden, DVM, Medical Director

Education:

Professional and Personal:
Margo Golden was born outside of Chicago. She recently relocated from Suwanee Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta. Margo and her two sons are settling into Carmel and enjoying the many activities that the area offers.

While attending Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, she was active in the Southeastern Raptor Rehabilitation Center and rose to Student Medical Director. Additionally, she served as a Student Emergency Resident in the Small Animal Clinic. During her senior year, she followed her interest in Exotic Animal Medicine to the University of Tennessee to participate in an Externship.

Dr. Golden has worked in private practice for over 20 years and has served as Medical Director for two animal hospitals. She realizes the importance of the human animal bond in not only our pets' health, but the wellbeing of their owners and how we can all mutually benefit. This vision correlates with the One Health Initiative, which recognizes human health, animal health and ecosystem health are all inseparably linked.

When not in the office, Margo is quite busy with her two boys, two cats and a dog. Her sons are in 9th and 5th grades. Both are active in soccer. She and her high school age son have become immersed in the Carmel High School Marching Band. Go Greyhounds! Like his mother, the 5th grader thrives in running and has participated in Pups Running. Margo has made the commitment to run in the Indy 500 Mini Marathon in the Spring. Emmy Lou, her wire haired pointing griffon is her running partner. Other than training on the Monon and soccer, her family takes pleasure in hiking and camping.


Stacie Haak, DVM

Professional and Personal
Dr. Haak has special interest in internal medicine, client education and animal behavior. She lives in Indianapolis with her husband and their two daughters. She also shares her home with Olivia, an English Mastiff, and three cats-Reese, Bentley, and YDLH (You Don’t Live Here – a stray that adopted them).

In her free time Dr. Haak enjoys spending time with her family and friends, photography, and being in the outdoors.


Niki McDonald, Hospital Administrator  

Education:
San Juan College, School of Veterinary Technology

Professional and Personal:
Niki began her career in veterinary medicine at an early age, starting as a kennel attendant and slowly moving through other veterinary career paths including grooming assistant, receptionist, veterinary assistant, practice manager, and multi-unit manager. She has special interest in veterinary economics, client service, and client education. .

Niki began her career as Hospital Administrator of Woodland Animal Hospital in early 2017, though has been part of the Lakefield Veterinary Group family since 2011. Her long term goal is to become a CVPM and help Woodland Animal Hospital remain one of the best veterinary practices in Indiana.

She lives in Geist with her husband and their three kitties, Raven, Chester, and Floyd (pictured). In her time away from the practice, she enjoys reading, knitting, and geocaching with friends.


Ali Smith, Assistant Hospital Administrator

IUPUI Anthropology

Professional and Personal:
Ali was born and raised in Indianapolis. Over the last thirteen years, Ali has worked as a veterinary assistant in a variety of clinics, including an emergency hospital and has provided hospital support in a variety of other roles. Ali and her husband moved back to Indiana in 2015 and currently live in Westfield with their son, Lyle, and their four dogs.


Tyler Russ, Veterinary Assistant

Education:
International Business College, School of Veterinary Technology 

Professional and Personal:
Tyler is a Veterinary Assistant who has recently passed the VTNE exam and will soon obtain his Registered Veterinary Technician license. He is passionate about helping people by strengthening the relationship between themselves and their pets.

In his spare time, Tyler enjoys attending concerts and is a diehard Tennessee Titans and Indiana Pacers fan. He has a kitty named "TC" and two dogs, Leila and Piper.

Tyler's continuous positivity, willingness to learn and assist, and genuine compassion for all of our patients resulted in him being named "Team Member of the Quarter" in 2016 for Lakefield Veterinary Group and Best Friends Pet Care out of over 1600 potential team members!


Anneliese Hartoonian, Veterinary Assistant

Harrison College, School of Veterinary Technology

Professional and Personal:
Anneliese plans to take the VTNE to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. She has a Maine coon/tabby mix named Rhett that she adopted from Harrison College. In her spare time she likes to shop, go to the movies, and spend time with her boyfriend, Darrion.


Alyssa Lipetz, Veterinary Assistant

Professional and Personal:
Alyssa joined the Woodland family in 2016. Outside of work, she enjoys volunteering, spending time with her kitties, and listening to live music.


Beth Lathrem, Front Desk Manager

Professional and Personal:
Beth has been working with animals since she was in high school. She is married and has one daughter. She shares her home with her two cats, Peaches and Owen. In her spare time, she loves to read and play cards with friends.


Cassie Lott, Receptionist

Education:
Ivy Tech Community College, Associate in Medical Assisting

Professional and Personal:
Cassie has two wonderful dogs, a dachshund named Franklynn and a Great Dane named Atticus. She also has a cat named Eugene and a fish called Cecil. In her time away from work, she enjoys going to festivals, people-watching, and star-gazing.


Katie Benell, Receptionist

Harrison College, School of Veterinary Technology

Professional and Personal:
Katie has two dachshunds, Cooper and Emma, and two kitties, Rory and Quinn. When she's not at Woodland, she enjoys being with friends and family, reading, and binge-watching television shows.


Lyndsey Coon, Pet Stylist

Experience:
Lyndsey has been grooming since 2007 and has been part of the Woodland Animal Hospital family since 2012. She currently holds two grooming certificates and is constantly seeking ways to refine her skills and learn new techniques.

Professional and Personal:
When Lyndsey is not making pets look and feel fabulous, she is spending quiet nights at home with her boyfriend, Jeff, and their Great Dane Atticus, Tibetan Mastiff Rocco, and two cats Bart & Stewie. She also enjoys playing piano, reading, attending concerts, baking, and spending time with her family.


Kalyn Thompson, Pet Lodge Manager

International Business College, School of Veterinary Technology

Professional and Personal:
Kalyn shares her home with her son, her shih tzu, Gizmo, shepherd mix, Bizcuit, pitbull, Churcho, and cat, Mr. Gray. She enjoys learning new things, writing, and helping others in any way that she can.


Brandie Richards, Assistant Pet Lodge Manager

Professional and Personal:
Brandie began her career with the Lakefield Veterinary Group at our Best Friends Carmel location. Her interest in veterinary medicine led her to Woodland Animal Hospital where she assists in a number of roles.

She has a Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix named Buck, a Chihuahua named Penelope, and a German shepherd named Lilly. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and hiking with her dogs.


Timi Brooks, Pet Lodge Caregiver

Education:
Harrison College, School of Veterinary Technology (currently attending)

Professional and Personal:
Timi is an aspiring Registered Veterinary Technician. When she's not providing care to our Lodge guests, she can be found curled up watching television with her kitties Ollie and Tucker, attending concerts, or baking.


Tristiny Darland, Pet Lodge Caregiver

Harrison College, School of Veterinary Technology (currently attending)

Professional and Personal:
Tristiny is currently attending Harrison College with the eventual goal of becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician. She has six dogs, including one named Sprinter that she enjoys taking on walks. In her time away from Woodland and school, she enjoys watching her dad race and spending time with her family.
